Cattle producers from around the southwest are in Swift Current this week for the Foraging into the Future event.

The event is held every two years and is back this year with an in-person event.

This year's theme is "Adding Value in Unconventional Times".

Yesterday the discussion centered around basic livestock nutrition and ration balancing, non-conventional feeds and critical thinking of new practices, bale weights and quality
as well as marketing options.
 

Today's focus is on forage rejuvenation, sainfoin seeding rates and its persistence in grass stands, forage breeding and integrating livestock into annual crops.
