U of G Veterinary, Agriculture Sciences Rank Among Best in World in New Rankings

The University of Guelph has been named among the top institutions globally, ranking in a record 15 subjects in the 2026 QS World University Rankings by Subject. 

Ranked number one in Canada, the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) broke the top five in the global rankings, climbing to fourth from sixth last year, confirming its reputation as a world-leading institution in veterinary science, research and education. 

U of G’s agriculture and forestry programs also ranked as the best in Canada, achieving first place in the country and ranking for the first time within the top 15 globally, climbing to 14th from 30th in 2025. 

The Ontario Agricultural College (OAC)’s global strength in food and agricultural science research attracts students from around the world, and the college recently launched a new course-based Master of Sustainable Agriculture

OAC and OVC also ranked first in Canada for both academic and employer reputation, and top five in Canada for research citations.
