MADISON — From early mornings in the field to helping keep family farms running, Wisconsin’s farm kids bring a special kind of energy to agriculture. Now, the Wisconsin Soybean Program is celebrating that spirit with the launch ofFarm Kid Energy, a new monthly series spotlighting the next generation.
Kicking off July 1, the series will spotlight farm kids from across Wisconsin, sharing their stories, work ethic and the energy they bring to their family farms and communities. As an extension of Big Bean Energy, which features growers’ dedication toward improving their operations, Farm Kid Energy will continue to celebrate the passion and pride behind Wisconsin soybean farming, now through the lens of its youngest contributors.
To launch the series, the Wisconsin Soybean Program is inviting farmers, families, and community members to nominate a local farm kid to be featured in upcoming installments.
“Farm kids represent the future of agriculture, and their energy is something truly special,” said Jonathan Gibbs, president of the Wisconsin Soybean Marketing Board (WSMB). “Through our Big Bean Energy campaign, we’ve been celebrating the passion behind farming, and Farm Kid Energy is a natural extension of that.
Each monthly feature will offer a behind-the-scenes look at life on the farm, from early mornings and hands-on responsibilities to the pride that comes with contributing to something bigger than themselves.
The Wisconsin Soybean Program encourages nominations from across the state, seeking stories that showcase the unique personalities, contributions and impact of farm kids in their communities.
“These young individuals are already learning the values, responsibility and innovation that will shape the future of our industry. It’s important we recognize and share their stories,” said Doug Rebout, president of the Wisconsin Soybean Association (WSA).
