Austin, Kentucky-based Kenny's Farmhouse Cheese has issued a product recall for several varieties of chesses that may possibly be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The recall affects Kentucky Rose, Kentucky Bleu, Awe-Brie and Tomme de Nena. The cheeses in question were sold to farmers markets, distributors, restaurants and retail stores across Illinois, Indiana, Florida, Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee and Virginia between the dates of August 22 and September 25, 2012.

Whole Foods Markets has also issued a product recall for Kenny’s products sold in their Louisville, Kentucky and Nashville, Tennessee retail outlets. Listeria can pose serious health concerns, particularly for the elderly, young children, pregnant women and others with weakened immune systems.
