Japan Gives Nod to ADM Acquisition of GrainCorp

Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) received approval for its takeover of GrainCorp Ltd. To date, five governments have cleared the acquisition, including – South Africa and Canada, which backed the deal earlier this month. The United States also authorized the purchase last November. The company is still awaiting approval from regulators in Australia, China, the European Union, and South Korea. The company agreed to acquire GrainCorp in April in a $3.5-billion deal.
