New Crop Missions Underway

The Canadian new crop missions are underway.

One of the teams is currently promoting this year's crop in Latin America.

Among those along on the trip is Alberta farmer Kevin Auch, who also chairs the Alberta Wheat Commission.

He explained the significance of the mission.

"A big part of this is maintaining that market and growing it if possible. We've got a pretty good market share here but there are others who also supply wheat, that if we aren't here to basically make this market understand and be aware of Canadian wheat, we could lose market shares."

The delegation, which has already visited Peru and Chile, includes representatives from the Canadian Grain Commission, Cereals Canada, and the Canadian International Grains Institute.
