NOAA: May 2022 Was Warm and Wet Across the U.S.

NOAA released the latest monthly climate summary for the US for May 2022 last week. It showed that most of the United States was warmer than normal, particularly in Texas and Louisiana. By contrast the Pacific Northwest was quite cold, especially Washington State. Rainfall was quite variable across the country, with little to no rain in the Southwest, and the heaviest precipitation in the Pacific NW, northern Minnesota, and the Ohio River Valley. Here in the Southeast we had a mixed bag, with some areas wet and others dry, although all of the Southeast was warmer than normal, especially Florida.
