Barriers To Bushels Program To Address Corn And Soybean Production Issues At Six Minnesota Locations

To help address key management issues of northwestern and west central Minnesota producers, Barriers to Bushels will be held at six locations in late February and early March. This is a program developed by University of Minnesota Extension aimed at current issues and research in corn/soybean crop production with the intent to ultimately help increase a producer's margins. 
The west central Barriers to Bushels locations include:
  • Monday, February 23, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., VFW, 811 Western Ave, Madison, MN
  • Wednesday, February 25, 9:00 a.m. to 2:15 p.m., Kandi Entertainment Center, 500 19th Ave. SE, Willmar, MN
  • Tuesday, March 3, 9:00 a.m. to 2:30, Cabin Fever Saloon & Eatery, 15331 183rd Street, Little Falls, MN
Topics in the west central Minnesota locations include Pest Management: Cutting costs, keeping yield (Bruce Potter), Weed Management: Managing for the present while considering past impacts and looking to the future (Jeff Gunsolus), Managing Diseases in Corn and Soybean Production (Dean Malvick), Corn Production: Managing inputs for high yields while controlling costs (Jeff Coulter), and nutrient management topics with Dan Kaiser and Fabian Fernandez and more.  For complete details, see the West Central Barriers to Bushels brochure.
 
The northwestern Barriers to Bushels locations include:
  • Wednesday, March 4, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Pennington County Engineers meeting room, 101 Main Ave. N., Thief River Falls, MN
  • Wednesday, March 4, 12:00 to 4:00 p.m., Flom Community Hall, Main St., Flom, MN
  • Thursday, March 5, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Bigwood Event Center, 925 Western Ave., Fergus Falls, MN
