IEC Board Members Announced

Bruce Dooyema of Sioux Center and Andrew Kaldenberg of Stuart have both been re-elected to the Iowa Egg Council Board of Directors.

Iowa Egg Council directors serve a 3-year term on a rotational basis. Dooyema currently serves as Board Chair and serves on behalf of Iowa Cage Free, while Kaldenberg represents Rose Acre Farms. Iowa Egg Council Executive Director Kevin Stiles noted, "both Dooyema and Kaldenberg have demonstrated tremendous commitment to the Iowa Egg Industry, and have been outstanding representatives on behalf of their egg-farming peers. Both have invested significant hours in efforts to increase egg consumption, and enhance both the consumers' understanding of the attributes of eggs, and an appreciation of the work and dedication of egg farmers across Iowa."

As a board, these elected representatives work towards three main goals: increasing the consumption of eggs and egg products, investing in innovative research that improves sustainable egg production, and increasing awareness of the positive benefits of a healthy diet that includes eggs produced by Iowa's egg farmers. These goals provide the platform to advance the industry and their relationship with consumers.

Dooyema and Kaldenberg are not alone in moving the egg industry forward. They join egg farmer board members Evan Blom of Rock Valley, Blair Van Zetten of Oskaloosa, Jeff Hardie of Ankeny, Tom Olson of Bode, and Dann Snyder of Villisca.
