Join Minnesota Corn, Partners at Events in September!

This month, Minnesota Corn and its partner organizations, including the state’s 52 organized county corn grower associations, will be present at events throughout the state to promote corn, biofuels, and corn co-products.

Join us starting this week to learn more about the latest trends in agricultural technology and conservation practices, receive great discounts on renewable biofuel blends, and celebrate all things farming. Events will be held at locations around the state.

Starting tonight, join county corn grower associations at plot days and fuel promotion events. At fuel events, patrons can purchase discounted Unleaded 88 and E85/flex fuels and learn more about the clean-air and cost benefits of these biofuel blends. At plot day events, farmers can learn about the performance of corn and soybean hybrids in their areas and hear from the growers who planted the different varieties. You can find the complete schedule of events on the Minnesota Corn online calendar.

In addition to plot days and fuel events, on Saturday, Minnesota Corn will continue its sponsorship of the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum’s annual Field Fest. Visitors can explore crop plots, meet farmers, learn about bouquet-making, participate in a pollinator scavenger hunt, enjoy baking demonstrations, and more. Entry to Field Fest is included in the price of an arboretum ticket.

From Sept. 10-12, Minnesota Corn will once again have a presence at the Big Iron Farm Show in West Fargo, North Dakota. Minnesota Corn will be on hand to talk with attendees about the latest from the world of corn, and our booth will be the place to sign up or renew your MCGA membership.

On Sept. 21, Minnesota Corn will be on hand at Huntington Bank Stadium during “Celebrate Ag & Food Day” as the Minnesota Gophers football team takes on the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Video: Grains on Tap | Episode 1: MP Branden Leslie

Our journey through the corridors of power and the fields of grain begins with a special guest, Branden Leslie, Member of Parliament for Portage-Lisgar and a proud alumnus of the Grain Growers of Canada. Branden, a native of Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, brings a wealth of knowledge from his time as a political advisor and his tenure as the manager of policy and government relations with the GGC, to his recent election to the House of Commons.

As we sit down with Branden on a late Friday afternoon, fresh from his duties at the House of Commons, we'll dive into the intersection of agriculture and politics, his journey from advocacy to elected office, and how these experiences shape his views on the future of Canadian agriculture. And, as we're doing this over a couple of well-deserved beers, we'll also touch on the lighter side of life, including Brandon's recent venture into fatherhood.
