Quarles Proclaims Soybean Week in Kentucky

Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles has proclaimed the week of March 5 as Soybean Week in Kentucky to recognize the importance of soybeans and soybean growers to Kentucky’s economy and way of life.

“Soybeans had an impact of more than $1.48 billion on Kentucky’s economy in 2017,” Commissioner Quarles said. “Soybeans are used as livestock and poultry feed, as biodiesel, in food products, and in many other applications. I have proclaimed Soybean Week in Kentucky to recognize the many contributions of the Commonwealth’s soybean growers and the farmer-leaders of the Kentucky Soybean Association and Kentucky Soybean Board.”
