The Canadian Grain Commission is planning on a consultation process with farmers and grain companies on a new fee schedule which could include lower rates.

The Western Canadian Wheat Growers says the federal agency has a 100 million dollar surplus from excessive charges for grain inspection and weighing over the past few years.

The farm group is calling for a producer refund and lower charges.
