Farm and Food Care Saskatchewan's Agriculture Month festivities will move this weekend to the Saskatoon Farmers Market.
October is Agriculture Month in Saskatchewan.
Clinton Monchuk, the Executive Director of Farm and Food Care Saskatchewan, says consumers appreciate the opportunity to interact directly with the people who produce their food.

We kicked off Agriculture Month with a cooking demonstration at one of the Sobeys in Saskatoon.
Within the event we had farmers there.
As people were checking out and walking by they would stop and talk a little bit to farmers and ranchers, just ask questions about how their food is made.
It was a really great opportunity to actually chat with people and highlight some of the concerns that they would have and talk to a real farmer.
We also had an event at the University of Saskatchewan where we had a showing of the Food Evolution documentary and then a discussion panel afterwards.
Then also we've been continually having the conversation about food and farming online using the hashtag, "our food has a story" and "ag month 18" as the two hashtags that we're following and continuing to talk about.
Within that we've had a significant amount of following, lots of conversations happening.
We're going to have again, this weekend, one of our food influencers, Renee Kolman is going to be at the Saskatoon Farmers Market handing out samples of beef meatballs and having farmers there answering questions or talking about farming.
We'll have some virtual reality goggles there for kids to get the experience of what it's like on a farm first hand, so a very wide variety of different events here throughout the month.
Monchuk says farmers are increasingly recognizing the importance of sharing their stories with the public, both in person at special events and through social media.
