Greenlane and Panasonic partner for Brazilian biogas expansion

Canadian biogas upgrading specialist Greenlane Renewables has entered into a formal agreement with Panasonic do Brasil to establish local manufacturing of its next-generation Cascade LF landfill gas upgrading technology in Brazil.

Under the arrangement, Panasonic will produce Greenlane-branded modules at its facilities in São José dos Campos, São Paulo state, with initial investment expected to reach between 8 million and 10 million Brazilian Reais (approximately €1.6 million to €2 million).

Panasonic's contribution covers facility modifications, tooling, production equipment and working capital, while Greenlane retains control of product design, supply chain management, sales and commissioning. The first system is targeted for delivery by the end of 2026.

The technology at the centre of the deal, Cascade LF, is a patent-pending landfill gas upgrading system built around a proprietary Linear Nitrogen Rejection Unit, designed to achieve up to 99% methane recovery per nitrogen-removal stage.

A related product, Cascade MS, applies the same core design to large biodigester projects. Both are configured-to-order systems available in inlet flow sizes of 2,500 and 5,000 normal cubic metres per hour.
